As the party gets underway, participating cyclists will receive their safety demonstration, coaching and plenty of track time. The live concert begins at 8PM and includes a special cycling showcase featuring experienced Velodrome cyclists riding in tandem with the live music. While the proceeds from the event will be used to support CMF & CMA, the unusual venue was specifically chosen to spark interest in those not familiar with the organization and the power of live music. Melissa Fathman, CMF Director of Development and Community Partnerships states, “Traditional concert settings involve sitting still and quiet in a dark room, but this is Boulder; people like to move their bodies and be outside. Why not bring great music to where many people like to be. Built into the framework of a cycling track you will find tempo, rhythm and line. It’s a perfect match.”
Doug Emerson, Co-Owner of the Boulder Valley Velodrome agrees saying, "The majestic shape of the velodrome provides a perfect crucible for music and athletic movement.”
