DESCRIPTION:On Friday May 5th\, the Center for Musical Arts and the Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival will play host to a series of performances fashioned around crafting things ourselves. Building things from broken bits and layers and slivers and slices and action and blind passion. Sounds and images\, music and instruments\, communities and commitments.\n\nFriday May 5th Performances:\n\nAntenes\n\nAriadne\n\nRhinoceropolis in Exile\n\n(Sadly\, the response to Oakland's Ghost Ship fire tragedy was to crackdown on similar DIY art spaces across the country. In Denver\, the thriving Rhinoceropolis art and music collective was raided despite cooperating with fire code regulations for more than a decade. Its residents were evicted and it's doors were shuttered. The art community came together to support the massive renovations and inspections required to reopen this essential art incubator and creative home. In the meantime its artists and musicians are in exile.
