The ABCs of Business Development is an ongoing series of virtual workshops covering foundational business development topics.
In this virtual workshop, we discuss the strategy and tactics of sales outreach. While marketing is a crucial component of business development, it's ulimately more passive. It's meant to attract customers to you (BTW - attraction is our April topic). On the other hand, sales outreach is more active. You are hunting for potential customers and persuading them to work with you.
Yes, this can mean cold calling and emailing. It can be scary - fraught with unknowns and rejection. But there are ways to make your activities more strategic and fruitful, and less awkward and frustrating. Spend an hour on Zoom deconstructing sales outreach and discovering new ways to make it effective and - dare we say - fun!
